Wake up between sleep cycles and feel more rested

If I go to sleep now, what time should I wake up?

The calculator below is set to "sleep now" and updates to the current time. It adds about 15 minutes to fall asleep, then counts forward in 90-minute cycles so your alarm lands at the end of a cycle.

How "sleep now" times are calculated

From the moment you lie down, your body needs roughly 15 minutes to actually fall asleep. From there, the calculator adds full 90-minute cycles. Waking at the end of the 5th or 6th cycle (about 7.5 to 9 hours from now) usually feels best; the 4th cycle (~6 hours) is a reasonable shorter option for a late night.

Quick reference from "now"

CyclesTime asleepTotal from now
6 cycles — best9 hours~9h 15m
5 cycles7.5 hours~7h 45m
4 cycles6 hours~6h 15m
3 cycles4.5 hours~4h 45m

If it's already very late, a 3-cycle (4.5 h) wake-up is gentler than waking mid-cycle at, say, 5 hours.
